  1. Today (September 21st) is also Stephen King's birthday, his 65th.

The groundhog (Marmota monax) is a rodent also known as the woodchuck, whistle-pig, or in some areas as a land-beaver.

Pocket gophers are burrowing rodents of the family Geomyidae.

They are all rodents, as is the rat, with the most common urban rat being the brown rat (Rattus norvegicus).

American badger (Taxidea taxus) is a member of the weasel family, Mustelidae. It lives in old woodchuck burrows.

The Maine-based Graveyard Shift (1990), a film based on a Stephen King short story, was a movie all about rats in a warehouse. The first victim of the movie, Steveson, the overnight carekeeper, was played by Minor Rootes, whom I team-taught a film course with for 20 years. Roots grown under the ground.
